Herd of Pelicans Atwood FP 7-12-14

We were out for our typical Saturday ride in the park and went through Atwood Forest Preserve. It was about 1:15 pm. The road at the south end was blocked down by the river, probably due to flooding, so I went up by the shelter at the top of the hill at the south end of the preserve to turn around, and I happened to see this herd of pelicans out on the river. So I got a few pictures. This one I took from the shelter area.

Then I walked down to the river and took a few more. It was pretty wet down there. They moved away from the bank as I walked toward the river, so I never got any close ups.
