Sagebrush
Still half asleep, Michael looked up at his parents sitting on the buckboard of their covered wagon and saw an arrow penetrate his father's chest. Then he saw his mother being dragged from the wagon by two Indians. His mother fell from the wagon and disappeared from his sight and from his life forever. Now he was all alone.

A Pitch for Justice
Phillies' rookie pitcher Tim Charles anguishes over his manager's order to retaliate against a Mets' batter for the team's honor. He throws a high inside pitch that crashes off the batter's head, but no one can foresee the unthinkable consequences.
Tim becomes the target of a grand jury investigation for murder when an avenging widow pressures officials to prosecute. A baseball feud between the Mets and the Phillies ignites into a shocking and suspenseful criminal drama played out in the courts.
Veteran prosecutor Jaime Brooks faces his toughest challenge when he collides with Tim's defense team in this unchartered task. Brooks confronts a possible criminal conspiracy among team members, an uncompromising widow hell bent on getting justice at any cost, corruption in the grand jury, and a national furor over the inherent risks of baseball versus the accountability of its players to society's laws.
Not only is Tim Charles on trial for his life, but the very nature of baseball is at stake as the jury views and hears the emotional evidence.

Haunted House - A Novel of Terror
FREE UNTIL JUNE 2!
**HAUNTED HOUSE is a stand alone horror novel, and can be enjoyed without having read any other J.A. Konrath or Jack Kilborn book. But it features characters from five other Konrath/Kilborn novels: ORIGIN, THE LIST, AFRAID, TRAPPED, and ENDURANCE. These select Konrath/Kilborn Kindle horror titles are on sale for 99 cents through June 2**

BEYOND AFRAID...

It was an experiment in fear.

Eight people, each chosen because they lived through a terrifying experience. Survivors. They don't scare easily. They know how to fight back.

BEYOND TRAPPED...

Each is paid a million dollars to spend one night in a house. The old Butler House, where those grisly murders occurred so many years ago. A house that is supposedly haunted.

BEYOND ENDURANCE...

They can take whatever they want with them. Religious items. Survival gear. Weapons. All they need to do is last the night.

But there is something evil in this house. Something very evil, and very real. And when the dying starts, it comes with horrifying violence and brutal finality.

There are much scarier things than ghosts.

Things that will kill you slowly and delight in your screams.

Things that won't let you get out alive.

HAUNTED HOUSE
People are dying to leave

Jack Kilborn, author of AFRAID, TRAPPED, and ENDURANCE, brings back some favorite characters from those earlier novels and puts them through his own unique brand of hell. One that hurts real bad. One that will scare you to death.

Are you brave enough?

Windows 8 Ninja Tips
Book Update:
Plenty of new tips added on 01-Mar-2013
-----------------------------------------------------------

This straight forward guide is full of practical step-by-step visual
instructions with full color screen shots.
Windows 8 is probably the biggest update since Windows 95. A lot of new things have come in Windows 8 and few of the most loved things are left behind for the better. Microsoft has done a poor job in explaining how to use Windows 8. I checked out lots of books that teach Windows 8 but most of them were teaching me the same thing which I already know from other Windows. I wanted a book which will teach me new things and hidden features of Windows 8. Which would not only save time, but it will also make me more productive. This is the exact reason why I chose to write this book. In this book.

This book is for beginners and the users who have recently upgraded to Windows 8 from previous versions.

In short in this how to guide will teach you on how to use the hidden features of Windows 8, that will not only increase your productivity many folds but will also surprise your colleagues when you use these tips!

Windigo Soul
A Death Sentence on Your 60th Birthday is Just the Beginning…

Windigo Soul is a semi-finalist in The Kindle Book Review's "Best Indie Book of 2012" contest.

"Fantastic, fast paced story. I thoroughly enjoyed this." -The Kindle Book Review

It's Hank Reed's birthday. As a citizen of the United Federation of Nations that means a mandatory death sentence simply because he turned sixty years old. Referred to as "retirement," it's one of the desperate steps the government has taken to curb overpopulation. Retirement is a widely accepted fact of life on a dying planet ruled by a tyrannical government. Hank's execution goes ahead as planned but state sponsored euthanasia isn't what it seems. The Reed family learns what really happens to retirees when secrets the UFN keep from the public start to unravel.

This book is intended to be read by adults and may be unsuitable for children under 17. Contains indecent language and descriptions of graphic violence.

Approximately 35,000 Words.

More Praise For Windigo Soul From Amazon Readers:

Spanish Civil War - History of a Battle for Europe's Soul - Spain's Great War (Required History)
Spanish Civil War - History of a Battle for Europe’s Soul – Spain’s Great War (Required History)

So, you think that World War 2 began in 1939?

Then you’re evidently not familiar with the Spanish Civil War.

The war was Spain’s Great War. The country suffered death, destruction, and repression on an unprecedented scale. There were large-scale military battles that left tens of thousands dead. The world witnessed some of the largest air battles that it had ever seen. People from all parts of society, from labor unionists to priests, were heartlessly murdered. Extremists and radical groups saw an exponential rise in their size and influence.

But, it was not just Spain that experienced its Civil War. The Spanish Civil War was also Europe’s and the world’s war. There was significant international involvement and interest in the war from the start, and it was a microcosm of the far greater war that was to follow it. It involved battles between democracy and dictatorship, Fascism and Communism, Germany and the USSR. The Great Powers of Europe tested out military strategies and new technologies, while tens of thousands of idealistic foreigners joined the war to battle against Fascism. At the same time, the great democracies of Britain and France played a more muddled role.

This introduction to the Spanish Civil War is the second book from George Levrier-Jones. The book considers the brutal war that arose between the political left and right in Spain over the years 1936-1939.

The topics in the book include:

19th Century Spain and the path that led to the Spanish Second Republic
The chronic instability and changes of the Spanish Second Republic
The major differences between the two sides
How the 1936 election led to the Spanish Civil War breaking out
International involvement and the instability of 1930s Europe
Why the Great Powers of Europe intervened in the war
The early Nationalist advances in the war
How General Francisco Franco consolidated the Nationalist side
The civil war within the Spanish Civil War
The great Republican counter-attacks and General Franco’s responses
Events across Spain from Madrid to the Basque Country, and Barcelona to Valencia
The closing stages of the war
What the victors did in the years and decades after winning the war

CAPTAIN Alexander Coleman is just minutes away, and he’s not coming alone. He commands a full platoon of Special Forces Marines. His estranged wife, Vanessa, and eight year old son, David, might still be alive in the besieged underground complex. The chance they both survived is slim, but that’s more than enough.

PURE HORROR awaits him, and a frantic race to control the most devastating weapons of mass-destruction ever created: Living weapons.

BUT ABOVE ALL, more important than anything else, Captain Alexander Coleman must save his family.

Gruesomely Grimm Zombie Tales
Over a century ago, The Brothers Grimm compiled an iconic collection of stories. Over forty years ago, American cinema was infected by the walking dead. A few years ago, classic literature fell to that same infection.

Now, it is time for the logical, but simultaneously unlikely, fusion of the often mistakenly labeled Grimm’s Fairy Tales to fall prey to the gaping maw of undeath.
Volume One of Gruesomely Grimm Zombie Tales offers up the first twenty-five stories…with a liberal dose of blood… gore…and of course…zombies.

ICW boot update - DIY repair attempts

4-26-13
A crack developed in the sole of the right boot.

I decided to try and glue it back together with Permatex. No idea if it will work or not.

You can see the crack in this picture.
Photobucket

Photobucket
I filled in the crack with the Permatex and set it aside to cure. I set it upside down so the weight of the boot would keep the crack more or less closed while it cured.
Photobucket
4-28-13
The Permatex did not work. I took Wilma for a 7+ mile hike yesterday and the repair failed. Most of the Permatex had fallen off, and what didn't I just took off.
Photobucket
So off I went to Menards for some Shoe Goo and tried that.
Photobucket

Photobucket
5/2/13
I did not use the boots until yesterday. The directions on the Shoe Goo package suggested it might take as much as 48 hours to fully cure. So far, the Shoe Goo repair has held.

I added some heel savers I bought off eBay. I wish I had them added when I got the heels replaced, but I listened to the shoe repairman who advised against it. This is the right boot. The heel was wearing directly on the back so that is where I put the heel saver. Only one 3.27 mile walk on this set of heel savers. Not much of a test.

Photobucket
The right one again.
Photobucket
The left one. The wear is off to the side so that is where the heel saver went. Might be a little late on this one. I might see if I can grind it down some toward the side that is not worn.
Photobucket
5/4/13
It failed after a second day of walking on it. I figured I would try the Shoe Goo again. This time instead of trying to glue the crack closed I decided to try and fill it in some so I used a clamp to open the crack up just a little while the glue cured.
Photobucket
Here is a side view.
Photobucket
I am going top let it cure until Tuesday morning and try it again.

The repair held up longer than the previous repair, but it also failed.

 5-18-13
I figured I would try one more repair. This time with superglue. I used Harbour Freight brand.
Photobucket

Photobucket
I will let it sit for a day or two and see what happens. It certainly looks secure. If this does not work, I may well be forced to take it back to the shoe repair guy.

This repair also failed. I think the stress at the crack from bending is just to much for the glue to hold. I may have to take it in and have it professionally fixed.

Based on a quick once through of the reviews and the summary I would hazard a guess that the book is a so called young adult book (really oriented for pre-teens and young teens) and that it is nowhere near as good as the many 4 and 5 star reviews might lead you to believe. I have been down this road enough times to smell out this kind of book. OTOH, it seems to have a fan club. YMMV. Beaver Bluffs Conservation Area Visit 5-25-13

This is mostly a dog park as best I can tell. As dog parks go it is pretty elaborate. The dog park part is 8 acres according to the web site of a total of 79.1 acres. I don't have a map of the whole park. The web site says only the part north of the river is open to the public, however I do not think it goes near a river. It may mean north of Beaver Creek that flows through the area and looks like it cuts off about half of the acreage. I stopped in as Wilma and I were passing by hoping to see if there was more information on the new property the district purchased which I think is to the south, but saw nothing posted.

Distillery Conservation Area Hike 5-25-13

Wilma and I have been here several times before. I have not been able to find two of the three primitive camping areas. I thought in the past that maybe I just missed the trails to them. Now I think the trails that go to two of them do not actually exist.

There is a bit of a maze of trails up in the far NE corner of the park that is not accurately represented in the district's map that I scanned. It also does not show the second set of power lines that run across the north edge of the park. There is a set that run more or less parallel to the river that are two wooden poles, and another set that runs east to west across the north end of the park that are steel towers, although most of it appears to be outside of the park.

I found a map that seems to better reflect what is actually there trail wise on Kishwild.com.I added a few things like the power lines and the yellow gate to it and posted it. I think it is probably the best trail map for this location as the district's map seems really off.

We saw a couple of turkeys in the parking lot when we pulled up. Nothing in the way of notable critters during our hike though. Lots of song birds, geese, and ducks.

What would you think if someone told you one of the world’s most nutritious foods was also tasty, could be cooked many different ways, was easy to find, and was totally free? I know what I’d do: I’d run out and grab some! Well, the good news is, there is such a food: Dandelions. Yes, those pesky weeds with bright yellow flowers you’ve grown up thinking are the enemy of perfect lawns is actually food – brought to North America by immigrants who knew how valuable they are.

Every part of the dandelion is edible. Dandelion greens recipes are common throughout Europe and often used in salad, quiche, lasagna and other pasta dishes, and many other familiar and less-familiar dishes. The honey-like flowers are a healthy and tasty addition to bread, omelets, pancakes, tea, and more – plus they make delectable jelly and wine. The buds are often pickled or added to stir frys and other dishes. The stems can be eaten like noodles. And the roots add coffee flavor to everything from ice cream and cakes to drinks.

The Ultimate Dandelion Cookbook offers 148 recipes, plus expert advice and tips, for cooking all parts of the dandelion – one of nature’s best free foods.

A Beginner's Guide to The Paleo Diet
It has often been said that change is progress and, in the eyes of many people, change is always for the better. While technological advances and new medical discoveries have shaped modern society, not all of the changes that have occurred over the past several thousand years have been good. Whereas humans used to live simple lives, today's culture is burdened by the desire to own the "next big thing" or to hop on board with the latest fashion trend. The desire to improve has become a compulsion, a driving need for some people to the point that they are willing to do anything to get it.

This obsessive desire for improvement has spilled over into the realm of health and fitness, especially in Western cultures. Fad diets are sweeping the nation and millions of people are making drastic changes to their diets and exercise routines for the sake of achieving the "perfect" figure. While many see results while following crash diets or exercising obsessively, few realize that though they may have achieved the look they desire, they have not actually become any healthier – in many cases, these diets can actually be detrimental to your health. In cultures dominated by processed foods and "diet" products real, wholesome nutrition often seems hard to come by – many people do not even realize that it is missing from their diets.

Looking back to a simpler time, early humans living during the Paleolithic Era were hunters and gatherers – everything they ate came directly from the earth, procured by their own two hands. Agriculture has only existed for the past ten thousand years or so and the type of agriculture responsible for the production of refined sugars and enriched flours has only existed for about two hundred years. Today it is too easy to simply pull up to the local drive-in, order a burger with fries and call it a meal. Whereas Paleolithic humans dedicated much of their time to hunting and gathering food, people today rarely have to travel more than a few blocks to find something to eat. In fact, it is possible to construct a diet based on fast food alone without ever setting foot into a grocery store or preparing a meal by hand.

Unfortunately, many people choose to adopt this kind of lifestyle and, perhaps as a result, risk factors for serious health conditions have skyrocketed in recent years. In a health survey conducted in 2010, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services determined that 9% of adults over the age of 18 had been diagnosed with diabetes and 12% were told that they had heart disease. The results of the survey also indicated that 34% of adults over the age of 18 were overweight and 28% were obese. In addition to these health-related findings, the survey also indicated that 53% or adults labeled themselves either "inactive" or "insufficiently active" in terms of aerobic activity.

The results of this 2010 health survey indicate that significant changes have occurred since the Paleolithic Era not only in terms of technology and agriculture, but also in human lifestyles. The availability of food is taken for granted by many and, because it is no longer necessary to expend much physical effort to obtain food and other resources, many people make very little effort to stay active at all. Both of these factors have combined to result in a significant decline in overall health in modern Western cultures as well as a decreased average lifespan and an increased risk for chronic illness.

Though human diets and lifestyles have changed significantly over the past fifteen thousand years, one thing has remained largely unchanged: human genetics. Scientific studies have revealed that the modern human genome is 99.9% equivalent to the human genome from the Paleolithic Era. Bearing this evidence in mind, the dietary changes that have come about over the past several thousand years have not been out of necessity – the human body is still capable of subsisting on the same type of diet Paleolithic Era humans followed. Five go by Land - Five go by Sea
A group of teens on a class trip to Disneyland are left stranded. An EMP over North America has destroyed everything electronic. No cars, no planes, no phones, no electricity. Refusing to wait for someone else to help them, ten courageous young people take charge of their future and choose to begin the long journey home. 1500 miles of adventure and lawless country await. Will their determination be enough?

Alex, Quinn, Josh, Cooper and Dara - setting out on foot with nothing more than some soon to be worthless cash and a little advice from a trusted teacher, they walk through a burning city that has come to a halt. The devastation they see as they make their way out of the city is a small part of the horror that the nation will become. As the days go by with no food deliveries and no water flowing from taps, civilization will start to crumble and it will be survival of the fittest. With five States and half a Province to cross they will need to plan well, count on each other and pray for a little luck. Even with that, chances are slim of getting home when you are Stranded.

Noble Beginnings: A Jack Noble Thriller (Jack Noble #1)
In March of 2002, while the eyes of the world focused on Afghanistan, Jack Noble finds himself on the outskirts of Baghdad, Iraq. A Marine in name only, Jack is on-loan to the CIA. Normally an integral part of the team, he finds that he is nothing more than a security detail in Iraq.

Jack and his partner Bear have a run-in with four CIA special agents over the treatment of an Iraqi family. Within hours Jack and Bear are detained.

All Jack wanted was to finish his enlistment and move on with his life. All he did was intervene and save a family from unwarranted violence at the hands of four CIA agents. But he soon discovers that he did far more than intervene. He has placed himself dead square in the middle of a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of the U.S. government.

This Jack Noble political thriller is not for the feint of heart!

Unintended Consequences
"Unintended Consequences is an engrossing, well conceived legal thriller. Most enjoyable."

How much would a father sacrifice for his child?

Nineteen years ago, Indiana police found the body of a young girl, burned beyond recognition and buried in the woods. They arrested George Calhoun for murdering his daughter, and his wife testified against him at the trial. The jury convicted him. Now his appeals have been exhausted, and his execution is just a few weeks away.

George said he didn’t do it. That the body isn’t his little Angelina. But that’s all he’s ever said – no other defense, no other explanation.
Dani Trumball, an attorney for the Help Innocent Prisoners Project, wants to believe him. After all, there was no forensic evidence that the body in the woods was George’s daughter. But if the girl isn’t Angelina, then who is it? And what happened to the Calhouns’ missing daughter?
For nineteen years, George Calhoun has stayed silent. But that’s about to change, and the story he tells Dani—if it’s true—changes everything.

FURIES : An Ancient Alexandrian Thriller
THRILLER OF THE MONTH! - e-thriller.com

"Furies makes your head reel from the very beginning ... A phenomenal read."
- I Read A Book Once

The best-selling author of the riveting crime thriller CHALK VALLEY returns with another gripping tale of criminal evil.

FURIES

36 AD - The city of Alexandria is a center of Roman commerce--and a sinful playground for the pleasure-seeking rich and powerful.

For wealthy merchant Decimus Tarquitius Aculeo, however, Alexandria has become a living hell. Ruined by a string of mysterious investment disasters, abandoned by friends and family, Aculeo is desperate to recover his wealth and status.

But his search for the reasons behind his downfall draws him into a web of violence. A common slave is found murdered in the magnificent temple of the god Serapis. Days later, the brutalized body of a high-priced hetaira is discovered floating in a canal, after an evening entertaining the city's elite. The grim truth soon becomes clear: A ruthless killer is moving among Alexandria's aristocrats, commercial titans, and philosophers.

And ominous clues begin to connect those murders to Aculeo's own quest. Aided by an Egyptian mortuary attendant, a brilliant philosopher, an exotic hetaira, and his last remaining friends, Aculeo must unmask and stop a deadly murderer if he is ever to reclaim the life he has lost.

But first, he must survive...

FURIES is a highly original crime thriller that transports you into an ancient, captivating world. It weaves threads of exquisite beauty and stark brutality, phenomenal wealth and degrading poverty, clashing philosophies and colorful mythologies, into an unforgettable fabric of this lost golden age.

And it confirms D.L. Johnstone's status as one of today's most imaginative new thriller authors.

Praise for FURIES

Heaven 2.0
Having been born in the 28th century, Mike Kepler never believed in the existence of Heaven or Hell. The myths of the old faiths had been abandoned and replaced with the teachings of The Church many centuries earlier. The young physicist is shocked to learn that there is an afterlife when he is recruited by the Taipei Corporation. It was created by a team of scientists rather than God.

Mike's job is to travel to the past and save people at the time of their deaths using advanced medical technology. The individuals are then brought back to the 28th century, judged on the sins they committed and sentenced to an eternity in the artificial Heaven or Hell. Mike quickly learns that the project is far less noble than it appears. He discovers that many of the people sentenced to eternal torment in Hell do not deserve their fate.

Zombie Fallout
Currently in development with Illuminandi Media
Late Fall - 2010

Reuters - Estimates say that nearly three thousand people nationwide, and fifteen thousand people worldwide have died of the H1N1 virus or Swine flu and nearly eighty thousand cases have been confirmed in hospitals and clinics across the United States and the world, the World Heath Organization reported. The influenza pandemic of 2010, while not nearly as prolific as the one that raged in 1918 still has citizens around the world in a near state of panic.

New York Post (Headlines October 31st) - Beware! Children Carry Germs! - Halloween Canceled!

New York Times - (Headlines November 3rd) - Swine flu claims latest victim - Vice President surrounded by family and friends at the end.

Boston Globe - (Headlines November 28th) - Swine Flu Vaccinations Coming!

Boston Herald - (Headlines December 6th) - Shots in Short Supply - Lines Long!

National Enquirer - (Headlines December 7th) - The Dead Walk!

There would be no more headlines.

It started in a lab at the CDC (Center for Disease Control), virologists were so relieved to finally have an effective vaccination against the virulent swine flu. Pressure to come up with something had come from the highest office in the land. In an attempt at speed the virologists had made two mistakes, first they used a live virus and second they didn't properly test for side effects. Within days hundreds of thousands of vaccinations shipped across the US and the world. People lined up for the shots, like they were waiting in line for concert tickets. Fights broke out in drugstores as fearful throngs tried their best to get one of the limited shots. Within days the CDC knew something was wrong. Between 4 and 7 hours of receiving the shot roughly 95% succumbed to the active H1N1 virus in the vaccination. More unfortunate than the death of the infected was the added side effect of reanimation, it would be a decade before scientists were able to ascertain how that happened. The panic that followed couldn't be measured. Loved ones did what loved ones always do, they tried to comfort, their kids or their spouses or their siblings, but what came back was not human not even remotely. Those people that survived their first encounter with these monstrosities usually did not come through unscathed, if bitten they had fewer than 6 hours of humanity left, the clock was ticking. During the first few hysteria ridden days of The Coming as it has become known, many thought the virus was airborne, luckily that was not the case or nobody would have survived. It was a dark time in human history. One from which we may never be able to pull ourselves out of the ashes from.

[#61. I got this for free when it was on the list about a week ago. It has not acquired any more reviews since then. It was probably free during the intervening period but slipped off the list and somehow made it back.]

Here's what customers are saying about this delicious cookbook:
"Great recipes for those sweet cravings. Every kind of sweet treats redesigned for the paleo lifestyle. Helpful and yummy- enjoy!" ~ Andrea
"This is the dessert book I have been waiting for! Simple using the ingredients I want and avoiding all strange or complicating methods.
Many recipe books for this type of eating have mysterious, unusual ingredients (eye of newt) or they eliminate some thinks, like wheat flour, but kick up the sugar, another unwanted ingredient.
This one strikes the perfect balance!" ~  S. Guthrie
"I have added this ecook book to my cooking library. It will be interesting to try ou this style of dietary planning." ~ JIMMIE R. CROW, MD PC

You have probably heard about fad diets like the Atkins Diet as well as things like Slim Fast. These diets, along with crash diets like the lemonade diet and the grapefruit diet are designed to help people lose weight but they are not necessarily designed to improve your health. The Paleo Diet, on the other hand, is scientifically proven to provide a number of significant health benefits. Individuals who follow the Paleo Diet often notice an improvement in symptoms related to chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and even heart disease. Many people who switch to the Paleo Diet also claim that they have more energy and that they experience an improved sense of overall wellbeing. So scroll up and click on "Buy Now" to deliver this cookbook almost instantly to your Kindle or other reading devices.

Bad Radio (The Emergent Earth)
Sixty years ago Abe Griffin saved the world and gained eternal youth.

Or so he thought.

Now, a man that Abe believed to be long dead is killing the surviving members of Abe's old squad in order to reclaim the relics that they have kept hidden for decades.

The relics form an ancient beacon that must never be used, in a ritual that must never be completed. But the end of the world requires more than just activating the beacon.

It requires Abe.

With help from the granddaughter of his oldest friend, Abe must learn the truth about his immortal body, while at the same time trying to stop a horrifying series of supernatural opponents from sweeping away everything that he cares about.

The Heidelberg Effect (The Tempus Fugitives Trilogy)
[#21. 2nd day. I like both time travel and and books about this period of time in this part of the world so despite the cover that makes it look like typical chick lit I downloaded. I am not sure how a sexy US marshall comes to be in 1620 Germany, which gives it that "sweaty thighs" type of book feel (that's what a friend of mine calls them - she is 80 and loves that kind of book).

Europe's Financial Crisis: A Short Guide to How the Euro Fell Into Crisis and the Consequences for the World
Will the Euro survive? Where is the European financial crisis headed? What will it mean for global and US markets? In this short book, internationally respected Financial Times journalist John Authers illuminates today's European financial crisis and the massive forces increasingly buffeting world and US economies. Authers explains why a strong recovery remains far away, why the risk of a disastrous "final" crisis remains terrifyingly real, and how investors can best navigate today's brutally challenging markets. The European Financial Crisis reveals why the 2010/2011 market rallies were so fearful, and why their underlying assumptions -- continued Chinese growth, bailouts, progress towards bank solvency, more easy "Fed" money -- have proven so tenuous. Above all, Authers shows how the Eurozone crisis uncovers today's worst unaddressed risk: the markets' loss of confidence in governments. This brief discussion offers  insights into underlying flaws in the banking system and the Eurozone's structure that remain unaddressed; how cheap money and bailouts have bought time that is rapidly running out; and the increasingly frightening signs of "perverse synchronization": forex, equity, credit, and commodity markets massively moving in tandem. He also offers specific recommendations for what policymakers can and must do now to restore the long-term health of the global markets.

[#76. This one has been free before. It is part of an anthology that I got for free some time ago and started to read and eventually just gave up as I lost interest in it, so it got the one star treatment from me. However, the book (really a long short story) has a lot of fans as does the series. YMMV.]

The Joke, Tesla, and Lycan stuff are still free but I am not going to clutter up my posts with them anymore. You can look at my 5-12-13 post for links to them if interested.
