Free Kindle Books 5-28-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book.

From the top 100 free list
I did not list any of them since they don't interest me much, but there are a bunch of religious oriented books on the list today that some might be interested in. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

Bloody Mary - A Thriller (Jack Daniels Mysteries)
Start with a tough but vulnerable Chicago cop. Add a hyperactive cat, an ailing mother, a jealous boyfriend, a high-maintenance ex-husband, and a partner in the throes of a mid-life crisis.

Stir in a psychopath littering the city with body parts. Mix with equal parts humor and suspense, and enjoy Bloody Mary--the second novel in the funny, frightening world of Lieutenant Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels.

Join Jack as she struggles to repair her train wreck of a personal life while tracking down and convicting one of the scariest serial killers in recent memory--a killer for whom getting caught is only the beginning...

[#1. From an author who is on the top 100 free list quite regularly.]

Phantom Patrol, The (Stories from the Golden Age)
[#35. 2nd day on the list.  I am not a huge fan of L. Ron Hubbard's works but he created some very popular SF for its time.]

FAST
WARNING: This book is not recommended for people with heart conditions, those taking anti-anxiety medications, or people easily repulsed by ghastly levels of (purely necessary) violence and mayhem. Read at your own risk. The author takes no responsibility for nightmares, mental anxieties or phobias resulting from this book.

For everyone else, buckle-up because:

THOUSANDS are dying inside.

HIDDEN under the burning Arizona desert is the grandest ‘Science-City’ ever created, and all hell is breaking loose. Using stolen genetic research, terrorists are unleashing a devastating attack on the civilian scientists, on their families, on their children. No one is spared.

BARELY one hundred and fifty souls survive the first seven minutes. Injured and wounded, limping or carried, they are frantically battling from minute to minute for their very lives. The odds are stacked against them, but one thing is in their favor.

CAPTAIN Alexander Coleman is just minutes away, and he’s not coming alone. He commands a full platoon of Special Forces Marines. His estranged wife, Vanessa, and eight year old son, David, might still be alive in the besieged underground complex. The chance they both survived is slim, but that’s more than enough.

PURE HORROR awaits him, and a frantic race to control the most devastating weapons of mass-destruction ever created: Living weapons.

BUT ABOVE ALL, more important than anything else, Captain Alexander Coleman must save his family.

Special note: FAST has an active table of contents, is approximately 100,000 words, and displays seamlessly with Kindles and all other eBook reading devices.

Gruesomely Grimm Zombie Tales
Over a century ago, The Brothers Grimm compiled an iconic collection of stories. Over forty years ago, American cinema was infected by the walking dead. A few years ago, classic literature fell to that same infection.

Now, it is time for the logical, but simultaneously unlikely, fusion of the often mistakenly labeled Grimm’s Fairy Tales to fall prey to the gaping maw of undeath.
Volume One of Gruesomely Grimm Zombie Tales offers up the first twenty-five stories…with a liberal dose of blood… gore…and of course…zombies.
