Free Kindle Books 5-27-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book.

From the top 100 free list
I did not list any of them since they don't interest me much, but there are a bunch of religious oriented books on the list today that some might be interested in. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

Phantom Patrol, The (Stories from the Golden Age)
A triumphant tale of heroes, honor and impossible odds. On the trail of dope runners on the high seas, Coast Guard CPO Johnny Trescott receives an SOS from a transport plane that's crashed and sinking. With lives at stake, Johnny must cut off his pursuit and rescue the downed plane.

Unfortunately, the dope-smuggling pirate he's chasing hears the same alarm, and greets Johnny and his crew at the crash scene with something far more than they bargained for."This is a rip-roaring, old-fashioned adventure like the kind they don't make any more. A blast for Hubbard fans and pulp fiction lovers."—Library  Journal

Before he was Old-timer, he was Craig Emilson, a young doctor, sucked into military service at the outbreak of World War III. Enlisting to become a Special Forces suborbital paratrooper, Craig is selected to take part in the most important mission in American military history--a sortie into enemy territory to eliminate the world's first strong Artificial Intelligence. The mission is only the beginning of Craig's story, and for the story of humanity as well, as they accelerate towards a world that is post-human.

If you're already a fan of the smash-hit Post-Human series, this prequel to Post-Human, Sub-Human, will answer the previously unanswered questions of how the post-human world came to be. And, if you're new to the series, Sub-Human will serve as an engrossing introduction to a possible future that has enraptured tens of thousands of readers in 2012 alone!

[#26. Based on a quick once through of the reviews and the summary I would hazard a guess that the book is a so called young adult book (really oriented for pre-teens and young teens) and that it is nowhere near as good as the many 4 and 5 star reviews might lead you to believe. I have been down this road enough times to smell out this kind of book. OTOH, it seems to have a fan club. YMMV. BTW, I am especially unimpressed when the author chooses quotes in his summary with misspelled words and other mistakes in them.

As promised in the author's summary, several other books in the series are also free, but not on the top 100 free list.
Post-Human (Book 2) (Trans-Human Prequel)
Trans-Human (Book 3) (Post-Human Sequel)]
