Free Kindle Books 5-8-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book.

From the top 100 free list

The Butterfly Forest (Mystery/Thriller)
[#3. Its 2nd day on the list. Lots of reviews - most good.]

Little Girl Gone (A Logan Harper Thriller)
[#6. An author who is regularly on the list. He wrote a couple books that I also got for free that I really liked. One got 4 stars and another got 5 stars from me. His stuff is a little out there on the edge of plausibility, if that bothers you any. 3rd day on the list for this book.]

The Delphi Agenda
[#9. I started to read it yesterday. I did not get very far but the short part I read was pretty good. Its 2nd day on the list.]

King's X
A tough Los Angeles detective is the only protection for a runaway girl as she flees a relentless killer across many lifetimes - from one incarnation to the next - in this imaginative, intelligent and heart-stopping story filled with terrifying villains, ancient mysteries, and unpredictable twists.

Praise for King's X...

"...completely engaging from beginning to end.  WoW...just wow.  Harper really understands language."
-- NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Tamara Rose Blodgett

"This is a 'stand up and take notice' story from a truly gifted writer.  The most original adventure I've seen in years.  "The Matrix" crossed with "The Da Vinci Code."  King's X is dark, beautiful, and very provocative.  I've had the story stuck in my head since the first time I read it."
-- Ken Miller, Film and TV Producer - "Charmed"

"King's X" belongs to that rare breed of books whose seemingly high-concept premise in fact shields a tightly crafted and deeply affecting story. Harper expertly balances character and conspiracy in a universe that will grab you from the very first chapter." -- Line Zero Magazine

"This book has grabbed me. ...really well written and I liked the author's style. Big thumbs up!" -- Booked Up

"...a very well thought-out book with lots of suspense, twists, and history. I give it 5 stars. If you love a good suspense/thriller, you'll love this book!" -- Paranormal Opinion
"King's X is a rare reader experience: an authentic thrill-ride that reads like literary fiction.  A must-read destined to become a classic!"
-- Laura Taylor, Author of "Honor Bound"

"Stephen T. Harper is a master of words.  I stayed awake all night to finish, heart pounding, eyes bulging with every new twist, and the ending almost killed me!" -- The Paperback Pursuer

"...starts out mid-action and doesn't seem to slow down even when the author is describing delicate women in quiet moments with the men they care for... Pick up King's X. You won't be sorry." -- Into The Morning Reads

"A good, possibly GREAT book." -- Amazon UK Reader Review

"One of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE reads this year!  Maybe this DECADE!" -- Amazon US Reader Review

5 star:(22)
4 star:(9)
3 star:(5)
2 star:(2)
1 star:(2)

[#11. An interesting premise if the author can make it work.]

101 best jokes
[Remains on the list at #31.]

Run
[#44. From an author regularly on the list. Its second day on the list.]

The Last Disciple: 1
[#57. 3rd day on the list. I am a fan of historical fiction, but not religious fiction. It is not described as being religious fiction but is published by Tyndale House that does exclusively religious material, so it probably is. Its free so if it turns out to be something I don't like, I will just pass it by.]

The Mating (Law of the Lycans)
[Still on the list at #62.]

The Keeping (Sequel to The Mating)
[Remains on the list at #79.]

Nikola Tesla: Imagination and the Man That Invented the 20th Century
[#82. Its 17th day on the list. This one is definitely not for everyone, but as an electrical engineer, it caught my eye. I read one of the lesser rated reviews that seems to indicate the book is more of a shill for a web site than it is a book about Tesla. I will be disappointed if that is the case. However, it has managed to stay on the list a long time so that may mean there is some substance there.]

Bonded (Prequel to The Mating)
[#85. Back for a 4th day.]
