A Pledge of Silence
In January of 1941, Margie Bauer is called to active duty in the Army Nurse Corps of the United States Army Reserves, and her mother sadly laments, “You’re a capable girl, but the world’s a dangerous place.” Despite her mother’s concerns, Margie is delighted when she learns her assignment is to Sternberg Hospital in Manila, Philippines—the Pearl of the Orient. She falls in love with the beauty of the island, and the carefree lifestyle of bridge games, tennis dates, pool parties, and dancing under twinkle-light stars with handsome, young doctors. Though rumors of war circulate, she feels safe—the island is fortified, the airbases are ample, and the Filipino troops are training intensely. General MacArthur is upbeat when he announces that everything is splendid.

December 8, 1941, Japanese bombers roar into the Philippines, turning everything in their path to smoldering piles of rubble. Racing to stay ahead of the enemy, the U.S. Army evacuates to the jungles of Bataan where Margie tends to the wounded, sick, and dying soldiers in open-air field hospitals. With the Nips at her heels, she is relocated to an underground tunnel-hospital on the fortified island of Corregidor. Ultimately captured by the Japanese, she is interned in Santo Tomas, a prisoner-of-war camp.

For three years, Margie doubts her survival in the harsh environment where she faces escalating danger, starvation, and loss. Then, an airplane appears in the sky. An American airplane! “We’re here! We’re here!” she calls and waves. But, cruelly, she finds the liberation forces bring with them a danger more brutal than those of her evil oppressors.

A PLEDGE OF SILENCE is a historical novel based on the experiences of the nurses who valiantly served in the Philippines during World War II and became the first U.S. military women to be taken prisoners-of-war by a foreign enemy.

Judgment Tramp (An Eb Maclean novel)
Praise for JUDGMENT TRAMP:
"From the first paragraph, you are hooked . . . characters are strong, realistic, and story line drags you right into the pages. Thrills, chills, a little romance, and great attention to detail. Could not put my Kindle down - stayed up til 3 am reading so I could find out what happens to everyone!"~Debra Field

"Things are rarely what they appear to be in this deftly written novel of intrigue and judgment. Eb is a wonderful character, masculine yet real, dealing with real human challenges, trying to find inner peace in a world writhing with turmoil and hidden and half truths. The ending is powerful and, like the rest of the book, complicated and satisfying." ~Martha Bryce

Ex-Army helicopter pilot Eb McLean is struggling to deal with his emotional scars and return to civilian life, but a sudden explosion and vicious murder throw him back into another kind of war. Now his sister Maggie's car is burning in front of their restaurant and hardened FBI agent Nick Kavadas wants to nail Eb for the crime. Eb finds himself in a race against time to find the real killer and peel back the layers of deceit and lies which threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. But whom can he trust? ATF Special Agent Danielle Ricci, who may be harboring a secret of her own? The sexy, but deadly, Imme Amoud? Or could his involvement with her be a fatal attraction? In the frantic hunt for the killer Eb is forced to confront his own tortured past.

"And I felt the ground move under my feet, and I thought it was the Judgment Tramp of The Almighty, finally come to visit those who had started this terrible war...."~ From the diary of a Union soldier with the 4th Michigan Regiment

More Praise:
Judgment Tramp was a fun read right from the beginning. Suspenseful with touches of humor....
This fast-paced action-adventure has lots of surprising twists and turns.
Well written, with compelling characters, unexpected relationships, and glimpses of humor throughout.
A well written, fast-paced, action adventure with intrigue and a dash of romance and lust
Interesting and unique characters

On the Road: Book Two (Life After War)
2012 was the end of the world. All society and civilizations fell, leaving the survivors to fend for themselves. Few made it.

                                                               In Book One
Samantha:
After being taken from her Seattle office at gunpoint during the apocalypse, Samantha's chopper crashes and she is taken hostage by the Cruz brothers. Abused and hurting, to get her life back, she has to take theirs and learns a harsh lesson in survival.

Kenn/Cadet
Kenn and the cadet were missed in the evacuations and instead of heading home for the boy's pregnant mom, the Marine heads them for NORAD, sure the timid little woman he'd controlled for so long, couldn't have survived the end of the world. These two are picked up by Safe Haven Mobile Refugee Camp and the Marine quickly begins building himself a place among these strong survivors.

Angela/Brady
Angela lost her baby in the war and that pain forced her to face the awful truth. Without using her gifts, those forbidden powers that have kept her chained to Kenn for more than ten years, she will never see her teenage son again. Forced to wait for her body to heal before she can start her quest, Angie calls out to her son's real father, Brady. They are reunited in the post apocalyptic remains of Indiana and it's clear that the sparks are still there.

Adrian
Adrian has a secret that no one knows and he struggles to keep it hidden even as he risks everything to gather his flock. He is a Leader, a Patriot, and there's nothing he won't do in his quest to keep some of his Country alive. Even kill.

Cesar/Rick
Rick is a traitor. He belongs to the leader of a group of Mexican Guerilla's that are intent on destroying what's left of the post apocalyptic United States. Cesar leads these ruthless killers, sending Rick into camps of refugees as his spy, before murdering the men and taking the women hostage. Cesar hates America and heads up Interstate 25 like an end of the world plague. He thinks he is unstoppable but already, there's a nagging worry that the forces of fate have something planned. For now, though, his reign of terror goes unopposed.

Mother Nature
Angry at the callous indifference of humans, Mother Nature has called her creatures together for the apocalypse. Animal attacks and ambushes become common place and add yet another adventure these brave souls must face in their quest for survival.
                                                                In Book Two

More of the same adventure, romance, and danger that made book one so addictive. Are you ready to return to Safe Haven? Adrian and the others are already there, waiting to tell you what happened next. Won't you join us?

Praise for the 7th Sin...

"McCray creates a fabulous
mixture of fright and suspense that makes it impossible to put down. As Trey
and Darc embark on an investigation into the latest string of murders, they
have no idea just how uncanny this killer can be. McCray's knowledge of crime
and law enforcement shines! She creates eerie crime scenes, sensational
dialogue, and an extraordinary sense of terror. Until the very end, she will
keep you guessing!!"

"Another amazing and exciting chapter in the Darc
murder mystery series. This book contained all the necessary ingredients for a
successful sequel; the trademark gore and shocking horror, the mystery element
as to the identity of the killer and the riveting, page-turning pace. It was
also nice to see the evolving character development for each of the main
characters including more of Trey's wit and humor and Darc's struggles with his
emotions. If that was not enough, then there was the ending!"

With
Mala missing, Darc and Trey must not only rescue her but investigate a
new string of gruesome murders. Can they find the killer before Seattle
is awash in blood?

More praise for the 7th Sin...
"Ms. McCray has a knack for drawing the reader in by
having characters that quickly become friends... and not so friendly. Engaging
and wonderful company for the beach or a comfy weekend (ok, I was so enthralled
it took me only a day). For those who have not read the prequels, it is a fine
stand alone book; however, I recommend that you do so in order to appreciate
the depth of plot, characters, and the world of the Darc Murder series."Oy Ve

"Imaginative and clever, "7th Sin" is a
novel that will pull you directly into the action and suspense of a thrilling
murder mystery adventure. This is a definite page turner, and witty besides.
Although I have not had the chance to read the first installment of the series,
the vibrancy of the characters and the writing swept me along instantly. It is
a joy to read such a compelling, intelligently written piece of literature, and
I highly recommend it!"

The Hooked X - The Secret History of North America
This book is the culmination of a seven-year odyssey to understand the origin of a mysterious symbol that first appeared on a highly controversial century-old artifact called the Kensington Rune Stone. The discovery of the meaning of the Hooked X was stunning, as was the secret history behind it. Never-before published discoveries provide additional support for the authenticity of the Kensington Rune Stone. This new evidence serves as the foundation upon which the case for the medieval origin of the Spirit Pond and Narragansett Rune Stones, as well as the Newport Tower in Rhode Island rests. Anything that helps validate the Kensington Rune Stone also validates the Hooked X, which also appears on the other four North American rune stones and ties them all together. The Hooked X is also found in two other unexpected places: The Larsson Papers found in Sweden in 2004, and in Christopher Columbus s mysterious signature. The evidence and analysis presented here suggests the origin of the symbol lies within the coded alphabet of secret societies that have been in existence since at least the early part of the twelfth century right through today. The Hooked X path begins in Minnesota and makes its first stop along the Atlantic Coast, where it is found on the three Spirit Pond Rune Stones discovered at Popham Beach, Maine, in 1971. All three runic inscriptions, believed by many scholars to be fakes, are carved with the Hooked X symbol being used for the letter a. The Spirit Pond Map Stone has inscribed on it the words, Vinland 1402, takes two days with an arrow pointing south. If a ship sailed two days south of the area depicted on the Map Stone at Popham Beach, Maine, it would be in the vicinity of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. Curiously, another runic inscription was found carved on a large boulder in shallow water near the shore in Narragansett Bay. It also contains the Hooked X. This suggests that those who carved all five rune stones are somehow connected, considering that the Hooked X is not found on any of the thousands of known runic inscriptions that occur throughout Scandinavia. On the other side of Narragansett Bay, in Newport, Rhode Island, stands a mysterious two-story stone structure called the Newport Tower. Amazingly, the final stop on the Hooked X journey in North America was discovered from evidence constructed within the Newport Tower and brings the story full-circle back to Kensington, Minnesota.

[#91. The author has a cable TV show. By chance, I watched a couple episodes of his show last night for the first time where he tied to prove the Knights Templar visited the US before Columbus. While no longer on the top 100 free list, Collapse Depth is quite good and still free. I gave it 5 stars. Well worth reading IMO if you like the military thriller genre. Kind of far fetched as far as plot goes, but fun.
