Free Kindle Books 6-1-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book. By the way, most of the time I have found the 1 and 2 star reviews on self published works to be far more revealing about the book than the more stellar reviews.

From the top 100 free list
I did not list any of them since they don't interest me much, but there are still several religious oriented books on the list today that some might be interested in. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

K.A.R.M.A
They won't be victims anymore.

  In Seattle, an aging mutual-funds salesman falls prey to the lure of a young boy's flesh;
  In New York, a 10-year-old plunges an ice pick into the heart of a street hustler to prove his love for a girl he met on the Internet;
  In Chicago, a young girl waits in the rain outside a seedy downtown bar for a man she's never met to stagger home;
  In Vancouver, a teenager waits patiently on a deserted rooftop for a signal that one of North America's most notorious murderers is about to walk free.
   Tom Hackett, a Seattle-based freelance photojournalist, is always looking for the perfect front-page splash, but when he stumbles into the bloody path of the mysterious group known as K.A.R.M.A., he quickly discovers that its thirst for revenge is unquenchable -- and it won't let anyone get in its way.

[#2. An unusual and far fetched premise. But, it might make for a good book and the reviewers think it is worthy.]

ROLLING THUNDER (Wings of War)
They were America's bravest men - seasoned veterans and young daredevil pilots with dreams of glory in the air...Court Bannister, an Air Force captain overshadowed by his famous father, driven to prove his worth to his comrades - and himself...Toby Parker, the brash first lieutenant who gambled his innocence in the flames of war...and Wolf Lochert, the Special Forces major who ventured deep into the jungle to rescue a downed pilot - only to discover a face of the enemy for which he was unprepared.
Rolling Thunder is an explosive portrait of men at war, so authentic and powerful, only a veteran pilot could have written it.
It is the first of the five-book Rolling Thunder series. Next are Steel Tiger, Phantom Leader, Eagle Station, and Storm Flight.

"A taut, exciting tale of good men in a bad war. Berent is the real thing." --- Tom Clancy

"Rolling Thunder is terrific - a novel of exceptional authenticity that hits like a thunderclap. A decorated Vietnam pilot, Mark Berent knows planes and men and battle, and he whirls them around in a story of uncommon strength." W.E.B Griffin

[#6. 3rd day on the list. From an author who is on the top 100 free list quite regularly. Might have been on the list previously. I vaguely seem to remember it.]

Top 25 on Amazon UK - Mysteries and Thrillers

The body of a young woman is washed ashore on a secluded beach. She does not fit the description of anyone on Missing Persons lists. Fingerprints, dental records and DNA provide no leads.

Detective Adam Bennett discovers a pattern of similar cases - unidentified bodies found along the coasts of Australia and the United States, and he is determined to solve the mystery.

These are six young men and women who seem to have never existed.

When her brother meets a terrifying death in the wilderness, Kate Kovacs employs her IT skills to help track the killers. A baffling link is found between these two cases, leading Adam and Kate on a labyrinth trail to a scientific research centre, to a Washington power elite, and to a secret reaching back over thirty years to a war-ravaged Vietnam.

Ruthless forces are gathering, and they will stop at nothing to keep the secret hidden. Adam and Kate just became their targets...

THE DELTA CHAIN is a suspense thriller and an enigma with a scientific edge,
combining murder and conspiracy that leads to an explosive climax.

Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire. Now the world at large thinks Samantha has developed a rare skin disease, a disease which forces her to quit her day job and stay out of the light of the sun. Now working the night shift as a private investigator, Samantha is hired by Kingsley Fulcrum to investigate the murder attempt on his life, a horrific scene captured on TV and seen around the country. But as the case unfolds, Samantha discovers Kingsley isn't exactly what he appears to be; after all, there is a reason why he survived five shots to the head.

DARK HORSE
Dark Horse takes place in Huntington Beach, California. Surf City, USA. Written in the tradition of Robert B. Parker's Spenser and Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe, Dark Horse introduces a new hard-hitting, wise-cracking hero with a modern twist. When high school student Derrick Booker, the only black student at a posh Orange County high school, is accused of killing his white girlfriend, ex-college football hero and detective Jim Knighthorse is hired to dig a little deeper into the murder. It doesn't take long for Knighthorse to realize that not all is as it seems at tranquil Huntington High, from a band director who preys on the innocent to a vice-principal with a secret agenda of her own. Not to mention someone's hired a professional killer to keep Knighthorse permanently off the case.
