PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book. By the way, most of the time I have found the 1 and 2 star reviews on self published works to be far more revealing about the book than the more stellar reviews.
From the top 100 free list
I did not list any of them since they don't interest me much, but there are several religious oriented books on the list today that some might be interested in. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.
Snowbound
For Will Innis and his daughter, Devlin, the loss was catastrophic. Every day for the past five years, they wonder where she is, if she is—Will’s wife, Devlin’s mother—because Rachael Innis vanished one night during an electrical storm on a lonely desert highway, and suspected of her death, Will took his daughter and fled.
Now, Will and Devlin live under different names in another town, having carved out a new life for themselves as they struggle to maintain some semblance of a family.
When one night, a beautiful, hard-edged FBI agent appears on their doorstep, they fear the worst, but she hasn’t come to arrest Will. “I know you’re innocent,” she tells him, “because Rachael wasn’t the first…or the last.”
Desperate for answers, Will and Devlin embark on a terrifying journey that spans four thousand miles from the desert southwest to the wilds of Alaska, heading unaware into the heart of a nightmare, because the truth is infinitely worse than they ever imagined.

[#1. From an author who is regularly on the top 100 free list. I got this one back in February, but have not had time to look at it. Has a lot of reviews, with a fair number of less favorable ones. Sometimes that indicates it is just one of those books that has niche appeal, and if it is in a niche you like it can be great for you.]
The Dead Room
[#6. 3rd day. Lots of good reviews.]
The Undertaker
Pete Talbott is a California native and harried Boston computer wonk still grieving over the death of his wife Terri, when he finds himself at the wrong end of Gino Parini's .45 reading his own obituary torn from that morning's newspaper. Talbott figures it is all a big mistake until Parini shows him his wife's obituary too. That is a mystery Talbott cannot leave alone. From a funeral home in Indiana, to car chases on the Dan Ryan, a bloody Back Bay townhouse, snipers in New York City's Washington Square, The Undertaker is a fast-paced mystery filled sleazy lawyers, corrupt County sheriffs, mafia hit men, the FBI, an army of Chicago cops, and an unforgettable scene in the upper berth of an Amtrak Train. Snarky, funny, and terror-filled, The Undertaker is an action-packed thrill ride with a touch of humor and romance. Someone with a penchant for sharp scalpels and embalming tables is planting bodies under other people's names. If Pete Talbott doesn't stop them, he and his quirky new girlfriend, Sandy Kasmarek, will be next on the Undertaker's list.
The Undertaker now has 51 Five-Star and 41 Four-Star Reviews from independent reviewers and bloggers.

[#19. Along with the 4 and 5 star reviews, it has a single 1 star review from yours truly from back in February when it was also free. It got more and more implausible to me as the story went on until I lost interest. As always, YMMV.]
Utah Beach: The Amphibious Landing and Airborne Operations on D-day, June 6, 1944
[#28. 2nd day.]
The Amun Chamber
[#29. 3rd day. For the total number of reviews, the number of less stellar reviews suggests a book with some issues.]

[#31. In the past, I have been disappointed by these type of books. And this one may be another with many good reviews, but not much substance. A one star reviewer writes "This hardly qualifies as a book and is instead just a strange assortment of recipes that have been lumped together and some of them had nothing to do with cleaning. I had the feeling the author has not used or tried many of the recipes herself..." OTOH, it is free today and the worst that happens is you lose a few minutes of your time.]
True Crime in the Civil War: Cases of Murder, Treason, Counterfeiting, Massacre, Plunder & Abuse
[#32. 2nd day. One that was also free in May of last year, but I have not gotten around to looking at it.]
Elisha's Bones (A Jack Hawthorne Adventure Book #1)
[#65. 7th day. Mixed reviews, but lots of them. Might be a book that has niche appeal.]
