Free Kindle Books 6-19-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book. By the way, most of the time I have found the 1 and 2 star reviews on self published works to be far more revealing about the book than the more stellar reviews.

From the top 100 free list
I did not list any of them since they don't interest me much, but as is typical, there are several religious and recipe books on the list today. I don't call them out because they don't interest me. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

Double Bind (Raymond Bridges #1)
In the sci fi thriller Double Bind, successful writer Raymond Bridges must unravel a mystery that goes to the heart of his being and face apparently irresolvable doubts about his identity, set off by encountering a perfect double of himself.

It's a thrilling journey that leads him to question so much of what he finds in the world around him - even the loyalty of those he knows, including his love, Victoria.

What he uncovers is a conspiracy that shakes the world he knows to its foundations and asks key questions about how we live now.

[#4. Not much of a summary to go on.]

A FALSE DAWN ((Mystery/Thriller))
[#4. 2nd day. Lots of good reviews. A number of reviews mention basic writing errors. Not unusual with self published authors. It was free back in December too, but I have not looked at it.]

Black Ops The Gate
[#10. 2nd day. One of my favorite self published authors. I have read a number of his other books. Several I actually bought. Mostly good stuff, if a little repetitive sometimes. Sometimes it is a little out there a ways, plausibility wise, but usually fun and well written.]

Walker
He has the power to Walk between worlds.

His captors think they can hold him.

They're wrong.

What do you say when offered a lifelong position in the most powerful and corrupt secret organization in mankind's history?

If you want your life to last longer than the job interview, you say yes.

In exchange for wealth, power, and training for his newly discovered abilities, all Daniel has to do is help them reach a new, unsuspecting world.

To make things worse, a group of desperate escapees pin their thin hopes on him, willing to risk everything on a miracle that Daniel has no idea how to provide.

Shackled with a restraint bracelet, constant surveillance, and superhuman captors, he must outsmart an overwhelmingly powerful enemy and seek freedom in the one place that is left to him, a new world that only he can reach.

Rusty Nail - A Thriller (Jack Daniels Mysteries)
[#26. 3rd day. The assortment of reviews suggests a lot of people got the book, a lot liked it, and a lot didn't. From an author regularly on the top 100 free list.]

Hal Spacejock
[#58. 2nd day.]

Trapped - A Novel of Terror
[#66. 3rd day. Was also free back in February. I have not looked at it. The author is regularly on the top 100 free list.]

Rainy Nights: Three Novels
MOON DANCE

Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire. Now the world at large thinks Samantha has developed a rare skin disease, a disease which forces her to quit her day job and stay out of the light of the sun. Now working the night shift as a private investigator, Samantha is hired by Kingsley Fulcrum to investigate the murder attempt on his life, a horrific scene captured on TV and seen around the country. But as the case unfolds, Samantha discovers Kingsley isn't exactly what he appears to be; after all, there is a reason why he survived five shots to the head.

DARK HORSE
Dark Horse takes place in Huntington Beach, California. Surf City, USA. Written in the tradition of Robert B. Parker's Spenser and Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe, Dark Horse introduces a new hard-hitting, wise-cracking hero with a modern twist. When high school student Derrick Booker, the only black student at a posh Orange County high school, is accused of killing his white girlfriend, ex-college football hero and detective Jim Knighthorse is hired to dig a little deeper into the murder. It doesn't take long for Knighthorse to realize that not all is as it seems at tranquil Huntington High, from a band director who preys on the innocent to a vice-principal with a secret agenda of her own. Not to mention someone's hired a professional killer to keep Knighthorse permanently off the case.

Now following a bizarre set of clues that leads him into stranger and stranger territory, Spinoza is about to come face-to-face with something legendary...and something hungry for blood.
