Due to time constraints I did not make any free book posts yesterday.

From the 100 top free list.

Honour and Glory - The Battle for Saxony (A Historical Novel Set in the Dark Ages)
Europe, in the year of the Lord 772

Like a bloody storm, Charlemagne’s armies ravage early medieval Europe, leaving devastation and misery in their wake. They have subdued the kingdom of the Langobards, defeated the duchy of Bavaria; they threaten the Moors in the west and, in the south, the pope in Rome.

Yet Charlemagne has even more ambitious plans: he covets the Saxon territories in the north. The Saxons put up an unexpectedly fierce resistance. When Charlemagne’s troops destroy the Irminsul shrine, the Saxon holy of holies, there ensues a struggle to the death. Led by the legendary Duke Widukind, for decades the Saxons fight savagely for their beliefs and their independence. And they will have their revenge.
[Appears to be a retitled version of Blood and Honor. I read it and gave it 3 stars. For some reason the author changed his pen name as well.]

Archangels: Rise of the Jesuits
WHEN CONTROL OF THE VATICAN IS AT STAKE—MONEY TALKS, AND NOBODY PLAYS FAIR.

Italian intelligence specialist Michael Visconte is shocked by the brutal murder of a Jesuit priest, who turns out to be a hedge fund manager for the Vatican. The victim, Father Matteo Pintozzi, achieved an unblemished record of extraordinary returns.

The next day, Michael is visited by two Jesuits who ask him to investigate the murder, and Michael soon finds himself in the middle of a struggle for power and control over the finances of the Vatican. Unfortunately, his lucky break—one that should provide critical evidence—blurs the line between good and evil and not only endangers the lives of Michael and the Jesuits, but also imperils the lives of his wife and children.
[30 4 and 5 star reviews.]

Not from the top 100 free list.

WIRED
Kira Miller is a brilliant genetic engineer who discovers how to temporarily achieve savant-like capabilities in all areas of thought and creativity. But what if this transcendent level of intelligence brings with it a ruthless megalomania?
[Been free several times before that I recall. I read it and gave it 4 stars.]

Hero's Curse (The Paladin Files)
I’ve got no choice but to warn you. Read further, the truth will be revealed and it will enslave you. You don’t want to know how the Universe works. I know I didn’t.

I don’t care who you are or what you believe—Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Wiccan, Atheist, anything and everything. You’re all wrong.

The following is a story of my life after I got drafted by God to fight the minions of darkness. Jehovah of the Holy Bible exists and holy warriors are needed to defend us.

If you’re wise, you’ll set this book down now and walk away. Keep your illusions; they won’t hurt you. Learn too much, open the door that is better left closed, and you’ll be fighting by my side.

Victor Paladin
Servant of the Lord
[Its been free before. I read it. Gave it 5 stars. Will aggravate you if you are a religious sort.]

Note: I have been using the ereader site for a while to find free books. For some reason they are no longer offering a comprehensive list of free books. Probably due to pressure from Amazon. I no doubt will have a tougher time finding them now until I get better tools to search for them.
