7-21-13 Amphibi-car

Don't see these very often. Seen at Atwood Forest Preserve boat launch. As we were coming up to the boat launch area we saw this vehicle coming up out of the river on the boat ramp.

Of course we had to stop and chat with them - a middle aged couple. They were nice enough to let us take pictures of their vehicle.

The bilge pump was on and spewing water out the tube in the back onto the ground. The guy said it has a few small holes that need repairing. He also said it goes about 7 mph on the water.

It has both a car license and a boat license.

Note the propellers in back underneath the car..
