Free Kindle Books 7-12-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book. By the way, many times I have found the 1 and 2 star reviews on self published works to be far more revealing about the book than the more stellar reviews.

Most times these books are only free for a day or two, so you have to grab them while you can. Worry about whether you really want to read it later if it seems interesting. And be careful, they can change from free to not free at any time.

From the top 100 free list
As is typical, there are several religious and recipe books on the list today. I don't call them out because they don't interest me. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

Enemy in Blue: The Chase (Book #1) (The Cruz Marquez Thrillers)
YOU KNOW WHO YOUR ENEMY IS?

The streets aren't safe when your enemy wears a blue uniform and a gold badge.

What if the good guys weren't good?

What if a cop went rogue and killed an innocent man?

What if it was all caught on video and the cop would do anything to cover it up?

Chase this lawless cop through the streets and to a scintillating series of showdowns with Cruz Marquez, a young attorney trying to nail down his enemy in blue.

Will justice be served?

Slow Boat To Purgatory, Book One
Praise for the first installment of this epic series:

"Vernon Baker lands a K.O. on his first try. Slow Boat will answer questions you didn't know you had about Angels and Demons, Heaven and Hell and the realm of the Boatman in between." David Beem, Author of Abyss of Chaos

"The series has a lot of potential and I can see it becoming a hit with fans of Dan Brown.." Book Monster Reviews

"It takes a very brave - some might say reckless - novelist to attempt a story of such magnitude as this - giving life to Good and Evil in an eternal battle for our souls. Vernon Baker has done quite an impressive job at it in this riveting epic tale spanning almost a thousand years." Pete Morin, author of Diary of a Small Fish

Slow Boat To Purgatory...

Gaspar De Rouse, a Templar Knight, a man murdered by his brothers for the secret he possessed, resurrected and made immortal. Given a second chance at redemption he has walked the earth for over seven-hundred years.

Dominicus Bureau, a renegade priest, torn between his vows and the secret he pursues, a secret protected by an immortal. He carries a silenced pistol and uses it. Often.

Alex Donovan, a modern day warrior thrust into an ages old war, a war between good and evil, heaven and hell. Armed with an ancient chronicle of the life of Gaspar, Alex searches for the immortal and perhaps his own destiny.

All three men, passengers on a Slow Boat To Purgatory.

[#42. The 2 star review says A very quick read. The writing quality was a little difficult to get past but the content was still interesting.]

IMPOSTER: The Protectors Series - Book One
[#92. 11th day. Was free last month as well. I have not looked at it. Seems pretty far fetched. Might be more of a romance than a thriller. It is about impossible to make those two things work together.]

Free From Stackpole.
Stackpole seems to put a book or two up for free periodically. Mostly military history from lesser known authors, often translated from the native language. I ran across these free books of interest from the Stackpole link I created. Some do not appear to be Stackpole books, others were somehow tied to the books the link uncovered. You just never know what you might find some days.

As the famous Colt revolver is to the United States of America, so is the Webley to the British Commonwealth, where weapons bearing their name have been used by British, Dominion and Foreign troops in wars waged in every part of the globe. With few exceptions, the weapons under review are prized specimens in my arms collection, which has been built up during the last forty years.

The Webley brand was established to give the British service the ability to control the battlefield at close range, and it did exactly that.
