Free Kindle Books 7-26-13

PLEASE. Do everyone a favor and write an Amazon review if you end up reading a book (or trying to and giving up in disgust). It does not have to be much. Just tell what you think of the book. By the way, many times I have found the 1 and 2 star reviews on self published works to be far more revealing about the book than the more stellar reviews.

Most times these books are only free for a day or two, so you have to grab them while you can. Worry about whether you really want to read it later if it seems interesting. And be careful, they can change from free to not free at any time. I have also decided to list books for no more than 3 days in a row to avoid cluttering up the posts, unless there is some reason I think the book deserves extra attention.

From the top 100 free list
As is typical, there are also several religious and recipe books on the list today, along with the usual assortment of romance, porn and near porn. I don't call them out because they don't interest me. Click on the link above and search through the Free List Tab if you are interested in such books.

Noble Intentions: Season One (Episodes 1-5)
Jack Noble. Assassin for hire. Spy. Thief. He makes no mistakes. Passes no judgement. Feels no remorse. So why does he stop to help a lost child moments before he's supposed to complete a deal with one of the east coast's top crime bosses?

A simple decision that places Jack in unfamiliar territory. He's become the hunted and finds himself in a race against time to save those closest to him.

Noble Intentions: Season One is a fast-paced, suspenseful action thriller full of underworld crime and government secrets.

Season One is a compilation of Episodes 1 through 5.

Dawn of Destiny (Epic)
You're tired of it, aren't you? Of gimmicks, of fluff, of predictability. If you've read one book today, you've read them all. But you haven't read this.

There's no glitz and glamor [sic] here--no trendy hype machine. There's only a promise: Epic is the deepest, most gripping, most adrenaline-fueled series you've ever experienced. Leave your sense of tranquility at the door. This runs on 94 octane.

Dawn of Destiny kicks off the story of Scott Remington, a young man following a calling to war. Sacrificing a promising life that could've been, he embarks on a journey to follow his destiny and make a difference regardless of where it takes him. It's a story of perseverance amidst trials and tribulations--a journey of faith into the fog of war. This is high-action and intensity wrapped up in the reality of the human experience. It's the introduction to an epic.

Load your assault rifles...you're about to drop into a hot zone.

Ghost, Thunderbolt, and Wizard: Mosby, Morgan, and Forrest in the Civil War (Stackpole Military History Series)
Noted Ranger historian Robert W. Black turns his attention to a trio of the Confederacy's--and America's--most infamous raiders and cavalrymen: John Singleton Mosby, John Hunt Morgan, and Nathan Bedford Forrest. Combining speed, mobility, and boldness, these three soldiers struck critical blows against the Union during the Civil War, including Morgan's notorious 1863 raid that penetrated farther north than any other uniformed Confederate force. While not overlooking their flaws, Black believes these men revolutionized warfare and sees them as forerunners of the Rangers and Special Forces of the modern era.
